What we know about PCSing to the KMC

• OHA and bedroom entitlement: Your rent ceiling and the number of bedrooms depend on your pay grade and dependents. That is why we ask for both and only propose homes the Housing Office can approve.
• School zones and school bus: Which DoDEA school your children attend depends on where you live, not where you work. We check the bus zone for every home.
• TLA timeline: If you are staying in TLF or a hotel, you need a lease fast. We prioritise by your TLA end date.
• Pets: Many German landlords accept a dog or cat if you ask first. We do the asking.
• Kitchen: In Germany a fitted kitchen is often not included. Tell us if you need one.

Frequently asked questions

Does the housing search cost me anything?

No. It is free for tenants. Under German law (“Bestellerprinzip”) the landlord who hired us pays our fee – you pay nothing, neither now nor when you sign a lease.

How fast do you reply?

Usually within four hours, Monday to Saturday between 8 am and 8 pm German time. If you sign up in the evening or on a Sunday, we get back to you the next business morning.

Why do I have to confirm my email address?

Confirming proves the address is yours and that nobody else created a search in your name. Only after that do we send you matching listings automatically.

Can I change my details later?

Yes. Simply submit the form again with the same email address – we update your search instead of creating a second one. Or just tell us by phone or WhatsApp.

Do I have to be in Germany already?

No. Many families sign up before they arrive so viewings are lined up when they land. Just enter your expected arrival date (RNLTD).

What happens to my data?

We only use your details for your housing search and for matching listings. We pass your contact details to a landlord only after you agree to a specific home. You can end the search at any time – a short message is enough.
